About tank gauging system

Tank gauging system high quality liquid level mechanical gauging systems for Above & Below Ground Storage Tanks and Vessels.

Our level gauge are currently used and supplied to Oil & Gas, Chemical, Mining and Water & Wastewater companies Worldwide. Tank gauging system provides standard & custom design mechanical level gauging solutions with control options.

Our mechanical level gauges can be completely upgraded with electronic and pneumatic outputs to provide liquid level control for alarms and/or pump control.

Oil-Level Gauge

Monitor hydraulic fluid or oil level gauge in gear boxes, crank cases, and other reservoirs. These indicators mount from the outside of your tank. The gauge shield rotates 360° for optimal viewing from any direction. They are for use in nonpressure applications. All have a vent to prevent pressure from building up and causing an inaccurate level gauge to display.

Level gauge with 40-micron filter keep out particles as small as table salt.

Level gauge with swivel fitting have a two-piece construction so they can be quickly disconnected.

Level gauge with drain allow you to sample hydraulic fluid from the reservoir.

Reflex Type of Level Gauge

Reflex type level gauges sturdily consist of a body with glass and cover tightened by U-bolts. They have a prism glass window that uses the basic optical principles of light refraction and reflection to enhance the indication of the liquid level.

In brief when the light strikes the area of glass covered by the liquid is allowed to pass to the interior of the level gauge, so that the area appears dark (black). While the light strikes the open space, above the liquid level is reflected back to the observer so that the area appears silver-white. It is possible to see the actual liquid level in the systems, even transparent liquids can be clearly observed. They are made from carbon steel, stainless steel, and carbon steel with rubber lined or lead lined depends upon the services.

They are suitable for various ranges of pressure lines; from low to high pressures, and made of carbon steel or stainless steel. In addition, they are lightweight structures and available for long visible lengths. What is more, Reflex types are available at low price. Reflex type level gauges are equipped with a ball check valve (emergency shut-off valve).

Characteristics Of Tank Gauge System

Fuel is a resource, and protecting that resource ensures you’re able to maximize it along with your day-to-day operations. Tank gauge system is also important for staying in compliance with certain environmental regulations.

Increase operational efficiency with rapid response

Tank gauge systems can manage all aspects of fuel, from its procurement, to usage, its condition and even its eventual sale.

Essentially, tank gauge systems allow owners and operators to increase their operational efficiency by real time tracking of key metrics involved in important decisions. And with remote sensors, owners and operators can even monitor and make adjustments remotely.

If an issue is detected, you are immediately alerted so adjustments or repairs can begin sooner and based on what is happening now, not data from days or weeks ago. This not only protects your investment and minimizes lost fuel and downtime.

Environmental compliance

Fuel tanks require routine maintenance. As they age, factors such as rust or algae growth not only impact the quality of the fuel, but can also have environmental impacts. In the event a fuel tank is damaged, there is the potential for fuel to escape, possibly contaminating soil and or groundwater in the area.

One of the big advantages of a tank gauge system is the speed at which issues are detected allowing for faster repairs and minimizing the environmental impact.

Description of the level gauge

Level gauges are devices used to measure the levels of fluids inside a container or chamber as well as the interface between solids and liquids. They can also be referred to as level sensors.

There are three main types of level gauges, which you can learn more about by reading our blog on the subject. It is important to know the differences between these products as each type is better-suited for specific applications over others. Using the wrong type of level of gauge for your applications may result in inaccurate or inconsistent readings.

Many different industries all require the use of accurate and reliable level gauges for everyday processes.

Level Measurement by Level Gauge

There are many different types of level gauge, each with its own application.

Transparent level gauge are highly useful in chemical industries and petrochemical fertilizers. As the fluid is stored in high pressure and high temperature, the transparent level indicator is very useful to find the fluid level.

Reflex level gauge are for applications that involve high temperature, high pressure and use of corrosive fluids. The colorless fluid used in this apparatus gives better clarity to level indication.

Magnetic level gauge are red followers that need magnetic level gauge. Cylindrical floats and powerful magnets are used to find the level of the fluid. The float movement is followed by magnetic capsules, and thus, the level in indicated. This type of indicator has good visibility and is absolutely safe to use as it contains non-fragile metal chamber.

Some other level gauge for reference are tubular level gauge, float and board level gauge, sight flow indicators, window type sight flow indicators, manometers, and bi-color indicators. Some of the level gauge are provided with various features, such as a built-in controller, continuous output measurement, and adjustable alarm switches.

Magnetic Level Gauge

The process level gauge is a proven method to measure liquid levels. The level gauge is one of the safest and most economical ways to measure and control your level requirements.

It can be installed on almost any shape, size or type of vessel in the industry. In applications of extreme pressure, temperature, vibration and highly corrosive or hazardous material the level gauge will perform where others fail.

Tank gauge for LPG LNG Solutions

Tank gauge for LPG LNG solutions Measuring and managing of LNG inventories is a sophisticated task. We offer the high quality instrumentation you need in combination with in-depth industry know how and engineering and maintenance services.

The challenge A typical tank gauge for LPG LNG works with a wide range of instruments to measure liquid level, liquid density, liquid and vapour temperature, liquid and vapour pressure, skin temperature and much more. Addionally you have to make sure that two layers of different densities are not rapidly mixing with the side effect of large amounts of gas being released, also known as rollover.

Our solution Our high accurate level gauges and instrumentation in addition with the inventory management system guarantee you highest transparency of inventories in the plant or headquarters. Keeping the constant temperature of the liquid gas, such as -200°C, also results in many technological challenges in handling cold temperatures. We offer a temperature monitoring system for the cooling down and the leak detection. In addition our LTD system monitors the level, temperature, density profiling and rollover prediction. That is not only important if you want to know what is happening in the tank gauge for LPG LNG, but also helps you to determine the next process actions.

How does the water level gauge work?

The working principle of the water level gauge is that when it is put into a certain depth in the liquid to be measured, the pressure on the sensor’s front surface is converted into the liquid level height.

The calculation formula is Ρ=ρ.g.H+Po, in the formula P is the pressure on the liquid surface of the sensor, ρ is the density of the liquid to be measured, g is the local acceleration of gravity, Po is the atmospheric pressure on the liquid surface, and H is the depth at which the sensor drops into the liquid.

The level gauge is a device designed to monitor and measure liquid (and sometimes solid) levels. When the liquid level is detected, the sensor converts the sensed data into an electrical signal. Level gauge are mainly used for monitoring reservoirs, oil tanks or rivers.

Functions of a Tank Gauging System

There are various methods to measure the liquid level and other liquid characteristics. The technique of measurement relies on the type of tank gauging system, the liquid type and how the tank gauging system is used.

Modern tank measuring devices digitize tank measurements and communicate tank information digitally to a control room where liquid volume and mass information are distributed to inventory data consumers.

Usually storage tanks come in four basic designs: Cylindrical fixed roof tanks, cylindrical floating roof tanks and either spherical or horizontal cylinder design pressurized tanks. For all these kinds of tanks, tank gauging system are accessible.
